New Longarm - Part 1

My Family Quilts Posts are on hold for a couple of days because my new longarm machine arrived!! And now everything is a big mess as we move one machine out and another one in. On Tuesday the machine arrived on an 18 wheeler. It came on a pallet and one long crate. Luckily I have a strong husband and friend who got everything onto my porch. The long crate on the left hold the poles and rails. The crate in the middle holds the machine head.

Opening the crate to get a peek inside:

Bags of nuts and bolts.

This is where the new machine needs to go. Where the old machine was. On the second floor.

Last night my pit crew (aka, husband, brother, and sister-in-law) came over to disassemble the old machine. Now, you ask, how does one get 14 foot poles from the second story to the basement of an old house? Out the window, around the house and through the bulkhead, of course. We looked as if we were training for the high jump as we carried the  poles around the house.

The new machine is 12 feet long, and those poles came up the stairs in a very civilized way.

Don't try and use the bathroom in the middle of the night at my house. The bathroom has become fabric/machine head storage for now.

Now it is time to finish putting the new table together.
