For the next few weeks I will be posting a quilt a day, of quilts that were made by one of my family members. You can read more about the Family Quilts Series, here. This quilt was truly a family project. My Great, Great Aunt Eda embroidered the blocks. No one is sure when she did them. My mother set the blocks into a top years after the blocks were embroidered, then mom and my grandmother quilted the quilt one summer while my mom was on break from college.
My mom thinks that the flowers are state flowers.
I have to say, I kind of love this quilt, especially the chevrons quilted into the borders.
