"As much as I love what I do, I forever feel like a dog on the wrong side of the door. If I'm writing a book, I'm racing to be finished; if I'm finished, I feel aimless and wish that I were writing a book. -From Ann Patchett's "The Getaway Car: A Practical Memoir About Writing and Life"
Replace "writing a book" with "working on a quilt" and the metaphor works for me. Right now I'm on the aimless side of the door. Tomorrow I'll share the George quilt, which now has a name, E Pluribus Unum, and you can see what I have just finished.
