Some of you may know about my Stillman St. series of quilts. They are small studies of what one would see standing inside a city apartment looking out into the neighborhood. This summer I continued making small quilts, but they did not fit in with the previous quilts. Why? I did not know. I thought I was continuing the series.
A friend of mine pointed out the differences - while Stillman was inside looking out, the new quilts are views from the outside looking in. She should know, she owns three of the Stillmans and looks at them every day.
Here is the Lincoln St. Series. If you would like to see them up close #2-7 are at the Sawmill River Arts Gallery. 1 Lincoln St. will be auction off at the International Quilt Association Silent Auction at the International Quilt Festival Nov. 1-4. (I especially like the one zebra square in #1 and the polka dot border on #4. They make me happy.)
